It all started with an idea.

 

Exciting scientific discoveries told us that the key skills that underlie human cognition and symbolic behaviour are learned, and this got us thinking, could a machine learn these same skills in the same way? If so, then it should be possible to replicate human intellectual and social behaviour, including maybe even consciousness, in an AI robotic system.

 

This was a tantalizing prospect, but the key question remained, what was it for? We knew the answer to this straight away - to try to make the world a better place. From the start we have focused on how we can use this technology to produce applications and therapeutic tools that can support human growth, potential and wellbeing.
